If you're new to photography, perhaps you had a new camera as a recent present, or are returning to photography after a break and want to fine tune your skills, Our beginners workshop is just for you.
This essential one-day course is the perfect starting point for all camera owners.
We start off with camera terminology and the exposure triangle, you shall learn also about the core principals of photography.
We shall discuss Iso, aperture and shutter speed and explain what each does and how they combine.
You shall learn about how to identify what settings to use for current light levels for when you are out and about in the field, how to use the correct F-stop to control which parts of your images are sharp and blurry. Choosing the correct shutter speed differs the outcome or your image, we discuss what you want from your image.... sharp scenes, or soft edged grasses in your landscape scene?
Composition. Together we shall discover how to create a strong and compelling image by positioning elements within your frame for maximum impact.
Understanding light. We discuss and use the available light on the day to get to grips with the various forms of light and how it influences the final image.
At the end of the session you shall have new-found confidence handling your camera and shall have skills and resources you need to start taking control of your images.
Held during the day, the morning starts with theory lessons as we talk about the different parts and settings that your camera holds, whilst practicing by taking internal photos. After lunch and weather depending, we will go outside to put everything into practice.
Normally we visit a location close to Rutland Water as it is a beautiful setting to go and photograph. At the end of the session you will have a booklet to take away to aid your development.
